FAQ

Getting Here

We are situated on St. Paul’s Hill, behind Platform 1 of Winchester Railway Station.

Whilst The Railway Inn has a car park, this is reserved for Bands/Artists except on nights when there are no shows. A lot of the surrounding streets are free to park on after 6pm and all day Sunday.

Show Times

Showtimes are provided on a per gig basis, and generally aren’t finalised until the day of the show.

We always advise you turn up for the door times advertised on the website.

Age Restrictions

Winchester City council have imposed clear restrictions on our license regarding customers under 18 years old. For this reason, we can not have anyone in the building under 18 without prior written agreement regardless of parental supervision or circumstance.

Everyone is required to show valid photo ID on request to enter regardless of whether they are consuming alcohol. We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove anyone who fails to provide ID on request, regardless of age, if challenged.

The Venue will not be liable for any costs incurred or held accountable for anyone refused entry. Any allowances for underage customers must be discussed and agreed before booking so the proper and safe process can be decided in each circumstance. To hire either the Barn or Attic venue, you must be at least 21 years old on the day of the event.

Accessibility

The Railway Inn is an old building, but we will do our utmost to accommodate any accessibility needs. We have mobile ramps available to gain access to Platform 1 and 2, and although not designed specifically, our toilets are accessible to some degree. We will also happily provide tickets for a carer free of charge, should you require assistance.
