Owen Tromans (album launch show) / Provincials
Following the ‘suburban loner folk’ of 2016’s Winter Tape EP, Owen Tromans returns with Between Stones, a wide-ranging new set of songs recorded with long-time collaborator Joe Bennett of Goldrush and Co-Pilgrim. On this new album, lush chamber folk vibes sit alongside long, winding narratives and ruminations on landscape and myth. Owen’s early band, San Lorenzo, were John Peel favourites at the turn of the century. As a solo artist since 2001, Owen has released eight full albums and seven singles and EPs. He has also released music as one half of Delphic Vapours, an improv duo with the author Seb Hunter, and Candles, a psych folk project with Savaging Spires. In 2008, Owen’s contribution to the compilation Chamber Music (an album of James Joyce poetry set to music) appeared alongside Bardo Pond and Mercury Rev.Owen has toured widely and supported the likes of Idlewild, Unwound, Best Coast, Plush and John Murry. He’s been endorsed by Artrocker, Maverick Magazine, Gideon Coe, Tom Robinson and many others.
