The Strange Doors (Doors Tribute)
The Strange Doors are the UK’s most authentic tribute to the legendary American band The Doors. They’ve been thrilling audiences since 2010 with their note for note recreations of The Doors’ uniquerock music and seeing them perform is as close as you can get to a concert by the real Doors. They haveplayed all over the UK, including a headline slot at Festwich (the UK’s biggest free music festival), toured France as part of Doors’ late lead singer Jim Morrison’s seventieth birthday celebration, and evenhad the honour of performing with musician Jerry Scheff who played bass on the Doors’ classic album L.A. Woman.
At a Strange Doors performance audiences will experience ad-libbed poetry, a singer that jumps into theair and writhes on the floor (whilst conjuring the Lizard King with his rich baritone voice), those crisporgan sounds of Ray Manzarek cutting through the air with beautiful precision, bluesy slide guitar andpowerful, yet subtle drumming that punctuates the music and vocals. The music of The Doors continuesto have the beguiling power to reach into souls in a way no other music can, whether it be the movingintrigue of Riders On The Storm, the expansive energy of L.A. Woman or the sheer exuberance of theout-and-out rock classic, Light My Fire.
The Strange Doors invite audiences to immerse themselves in the vibe, to move to the hypnotic beat andto break on through to the other side.
Is everybody in? The Ceremony is about to begin…
